Week 2-1: Twitter, a short review

imagesActually I had a twitter account  since it newly came to the web 2.0 jungle but sadly I never update my status for so long and lost my account so I have to create a new account  in order to make a simple review about  twitter

Twitter is one of  microbloggingr services (another well known microbloging is plurk) that enables the user to post a short message (between 100-200 characters). So what is the advantages compare to blogging services? Well  microblogging existed because basically it is intended  to make user share  simple information usually related to daily life, mood, etc.  Blogging services have this functionality as well but for some people this is more complicated because they only need a simple application. And  microblogging fills this gap.  In microblogging people can start with a very simple question: ‘what are you doing?’ :-)

Dimas – Your review of Twitter seems accurate, but how can it be applied to learning? If “what are you doing?” is a good starting point, then the scope is limited. In my short time on Twitter, I have noticed that for some learning to occur, more pertinent information is needed. One person I am following is an old acquaintance from high school. He is a reporter for the St. Louis Cardinals and he has a lot of followers. His tweets are related to major league baseball, with emphasis on the St. Louis team. Following him could be considered educational in some circles.

Thanks for your comment, speaking about twitter I don’t think this is a good tool for educational purposes because the features are limited. I prefer to choose another web 2.0 tools that have more features like facebook, etc for educational context
