I’m trying to compile the type of web 2.0 content as follows:

  1. Based on Media
    1. Text Based : Can be found easily in web 2.0 sites like Wikipedia, blog, etc .Text based content is more easy and quickly to be created and published through the Internet
    2. Multimedia-based Content : Multimedia content like video, audio, interactive content require relatively more time and cost in the making process and its publication
    3. Based on usefulness
      1. Data: Something that does not carry a meaning and it is a raw collection of facts about an incident. The data is the important ingredients to construct the information.
      2. Information: Compilation of data. Information has meaning, relevance and purpose. Transformation of data into information is by add a  ”value” into it. Information is data that has been processed into something that brings a meaning .
      3. Knowledge: a combination of experience, values, contextual information and also the view of experts that provide a framework to evaluate and create new experiences. Can be a solution of a problem solution, the instructions of a job and this could be increased in value, and can also be taught to the others.
      4. Based on its license
        1. Open Content: Any type of creative work published in a format (license) that allows other parties (individuals, companies, organizations) to enhance and modify the information therein. Copyright in content remain open, but the license allows others to freely use and modify. The type of open content licensing are: GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), Creative Common License, the Open Content License (OPL) and the Open Directory License (ODL).
        2. Proprietary Content: Any type of creative work published in a format (license) with the various restrictions in the use, modification, or reproduce. Proprietary content is usually in the form of royalties  to the copyright owner. Please note that although a proprietary content claim a product is free content, but the product may not be free to redistribute or  modify.
